Basically I was gonna build a pc but after seeing how expensive it was i was quite shocked. I decided to open up my old family pc. Its an old Packard Bell iMedia S3810. Its so old the only parts I recognise is the Intel core i3 and a Cooler Master cpu cooler. I also believe it has a Packard Bell iMedia S3810 LGA1156 motherboard. I'm really on a budget but still want to upgrade from the 60fps im getting from my ps4. I don't necessarily need an immediate build but just graduate upgrades and an upgrade path. Any ideas on builds or anything I can use or upgrade from the old pc?

You will have to stretch your budget a bit more tbh and your be looking at something 'current gen', the reason is that AMD about to release their next line of chips driving the currently available chips down and saving you a lot of money, so in short if you can wait a month the basket below will be cheaper.

Getting over 60fps from ps4 is going to be game dependant tbh, but your probably find that overall the fidelity is marginally better (at 1080p) and you could push some games into 1440p. 4k would not be possible with this.

Your old PC is 'worthless' now (its just too old to upgrade) so the best bet is to start from scratch, maybe you can repurpose the case and any drives you have. Rough path, that would give you room to grow in the future:

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £669.64 (includes shipping: £11.70)

Sure you could make the above even cheaper by swapping stuff out for lower components but its not going to get you what you want and your largely just be wasting your money and not be satisfied.
