Hi all,

I currently have a EVGA 680i mobo running Geil Ultra DDR2 PC6500 4gig, Intel Duo Core E6600, crucial ssd and EVGA 8800GTS the one with 640mb ram.

I want to replace my CPU and RAM for something quicker as when i look at the stats the graphics and SSD are far ahead so i want to catch them up a bit.

What would you recommend? Im thinking of a Quad core but not sure what type as unsure if board can handle them all and im three minds on RAM to. I was thinking dominator or something running at 1066mhz, but my current Geil is 4-4-4-12

Cheers

Jon

Im thinking you should try overclocking what you got and actually replacing the 8800GT if your into gaming.

omg!! me and you have the same first name! :D lol
yeah try overclocking your cpu and keep your set up until the new toys come out(high end 6xxx and sandy bridge) :D

I heard there was some new stuff out next year. My graphics card rates quite highly runs DX10/11 fine im not into heavy gaming really i do like the new Civ V that came out but it is graphic intensive surprisingly. (I dont do halo COD etc cant stand them im a thinker lol) So whats wrong with my card?

I have had a play with my CPU and got it to 3gig with no issues i was just unsure if the RAM was up to it? When it comes to clocking its not something that i have done so i only have stock cooling etc but i know these E6600 chips run quite cool anyway, plus with extra cooling you can get them to 3.4gig
