Hi guys my current system is;

e6750
asus p5k-e wifi
4 gb ocz reaper
bfg gtx 280
corsair 750w psu
antec p180.
Tuniq tower

I have some money spare after paying for the holiday (around 650-700), i am now looking to spend it on upgrading my computer to make it a bit more future proof!

I do a bit of of overclocking and i was looking at buying the following.

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - Retail £250.99
Asus P6T Deluxe Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard £239.99
OCZ Gold 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 2000MHz PC3-16000C10 Low-Voltage Triple Channel (OCZ3G2000LV6GK) £104.98
Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103UJ)

What are your opinions on the above? if you feel i could save a bit of money here or there feel free to give your opinion.

If i7 is within your budget then I'd say go for it - that looks like a nice spec.

+1

Make sure you check the QVL RAM list for that board before you go ahead with your purchases though. I bought the same RAM, and can't get it running in my P6T (vanilla). I think it's a compatibility issue.

I7 seems to be the way everyone is going to say the least, but i still love my good old q6600 lol. think the I7 chips are rather good, fairly impressive, not sure if i would upgrade to one if i could or if i would upgrade graphics, but then i guess you have a nice card already, buy an I7 already :P
