upgrading card

currently have ATi Radeon X1300/X1550 Series, 256mb with 1536mb shared memory

my question is, im looking into something bigger than 256mb possibly 1gb, and have found a few from OCuk, but do i need to look for the shared memory part? does this shared memory affect the decision of the what card to buy?

budget is around £50-£100

I don't know the cards lower down current gen but maybe something like a 9800GT still packs somewhat of a punch for around £50.

I'd get the 6850 though. Great card for £100.

thanks for the reply, had my eye on the HD 6770 card myself, but the 6850 card looks better,

especially with 2 DVI ports and the HDMI, saves me buying seperate pci card now

one more question... do you know if the HD6850 come with pixel shader if so what version? i see its got Dirext X11 so i would presume pixel 5.0 correct?

yup 5.0 and another vote for the 6850. The 6770 isn't anything special And Nvidia doesn't really offer anything great in this price range until you hit the £150 mark.
