Hi all

Have been thinking about replacing my gtx 480 and have been looking at a hd 7970, 7950 or a gtx 670, all 3 are on offer this week.

The rest of my system contains - I7 960 (overclocked @ 4ghz), 6 gb ram and my case is an antec 902.

Is the additional premium of £60 really worth it for a 7970 or gtx 670?

Any ideas?

The 7950 is the card of choice (The HIS ICEQ BOOST at £229.99 was a fantastic offer). Also a good sweetner was all the free games but sadly, that offer has ended.

If you enjoy overclocking, the 7950 is still the card of choice, as it does offer good performance with a decent overclock.

The 7970 is ideal if you want to put it under water/chiller/LN2 and clock the nuts off it to an extent that you will see your name up high on overclocking leader boards.

The 670 is ideal if you just want to plug it in and go. Room for overclocking still and very simple with AfterBurner.

If you're running at 1080p then you generally won't need more than a 7950 or 670 for the forseeable future, the 7950 will overclock beyond the 670 and are cheaper. If higher res/120hz or multi monitor then i'd look at the 7970.
