Hi.
When It comes to upgrading your PC, as far as I know, most parts can be swapped out straight for a newer component.
PSU, RAM, Disk Drives, cooling stuffs and what not.

But if you wanted to upgrade your Motherboard or CPU, Would you have to replace a whole bunch at once, a long with a new OS?

Any light on this would be nice, thanks.

You don't have to upgrade to a newer operating system - but it depends if your using a older version like XP or Vista then it might be prudent to upgrade to 8 or 7.

You can upgrade your cpu to newer version without worrying about a fresh install (but changing sockets it can be wise)

What are you looking to upgrade?

You need to give us some more information. If it's a crappy dell prebuilt system then the psu might need to be replaced etc

I have an i5 i5 3570K, Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H on W7.

I'm just wondering for when my components do become old and tired.
