Upgrading computer; how to reinstall Windows 7?

Hi,

I've got myself a new cpu, mobo and ram and assume I'll need to reinstall Windows 7 as a result? I've got a retail version of Windows 7 so no problem there.

For the time being I'm using my existing HDD (until I get some monies for an SSD!), so is it just a case of fitting the new mobo, changing the boot priority and reinstalling from the Windows disc to copy over the old installation? Will it let me do that? I wasn't sure if the existing installation would hamper things or whether I somehow need to format the hard disk first?

Sorry if this is obvious! :)

Great stuff thanks guys. I think a full reinstall is probably the best idea because I'm switching from AMD to Intel and I forsee problems if I don't. :)
