Hey guys!
I just bought a 240hz screen and I ain't going back to my 144hz I see a too big of a difference. But my computer is getting some big dips with this high fps, so I need a new cpu at least. I game overwatch at 1080p low settings, 75% render (the setting will stay that way even if the build could go higher) and I also want my cpu build to be future proof for at least 240fps in the upcoming overwatch 2.
The ryzen 5600x looks really good and I like the low power consumption. But it is not in stock before April. The only ryzen in stock is the 5800x and it seems like a bad value? There is a Intel 10600k at 200£ in my country that seems like a good choice but is it future proof enough? I want this build to last at least the lifespan of overwatch 2 due in 2022, so my guess is im building for 5-10yrs or more. Since 2001 I have only really played rtcw(01-06), wow(06-18) and now overwatch, so I don't change game often and the only reason I need to upgrade is cause I got to experience that 240hz screen. But if the build does 360fps I might upgrade the screen at a later point in time
My current computer is i7 3770[email protected], gtx 1060 3gb, 16gb ram 1600. My dips goes down to 140fps with 80-90% load cpu and 60% load gpu and my avg is 190fps. If I go to training ground (small map, no real players) I get 360fps and 95% gpu load, cpu remains same 80-90%.
PS. I also do 4k video rendering in Vegas so bonus time cut there would be nice as as my rendering speed now is 10min video 1hr time.
My current buy list is this:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Prosessor
MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4 3600Mhz 32GB
Noctua NH-U12S CPU cooler
Noctua NT-H1 pasta
Corsair 4000D Airflow Midi Tower
Corsair ML120 PRO, 120mm Fan
WD Black SN850 500GB M.2 Ssd
Corsair Force Series MP600 1TB M.2 SSD
MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GAMING X TRIO
Corsair TX650M, 650W PSU Gold
Damn that 550£ 24" TN 1080p monitor kinda seem like an even more expensive choice now that I see that upgrade list sight... Would it be insane to build this for my use? I am thinking about removing the 3060ti and just use the 1060 for now.
