Hey all recently received my PC from Overclockers and i thinking about upgrading my heatsink.

ive been looking at..

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £68.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

but im not sure if i will have enough room. The only thing that really worries me is that the RAM looks so close im not sure it would fit with the pipes on the side. Here's some info on what i have...

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £308.03 (includes shipping: £11.10)

any help would be great thanks

I wouldn't worry. That cooler is specified as compatible with socket 1151 so you'll be ok. Bear in mind the Intel sockets have a clear space defined around them in the specifications and coolers will be designed to fit in it. That photo doesn't have the brackets mounted yet that make the cooler block wider.

You'll be fine. But what cooler do you have now and is this a substantial enough upgrade?

Hey thanks for the reply.

My cooler at the moment is just the stock one. Small ugly thing haha

Personally I think the be quiet! coolers look amazing, and perform well from what I can tell. The top end are Dark Rock 3/4 and Dark Rock Pro 3/4.

Noctua NH-D14 and D15 are massively popular too. All the above are very high end so large, but high performing. Bigger coolers and fans work less hard to cool a given load, so can be quieter.

I'll check them out.

Thanks for your help much appreciated.
