Hi i have had my PC for roughly 3 years now and was looking at upgrading my GPU, but wanted to see if people thought my CPU needed upgrading as well and what CPU's people would recommend. Looking to try and play games like Wither 3 and War hammer total war on ultra, I'm currently able to play most games on low/medium while only getting a few frame drops but want to try and be able to play some new stuff on higher settings.

My current CPU is - Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge)
My current GPU is - MSI HD 7850 Twin Frozr III OC 2048MB GDDR5

Any help is appreciated

Many thanks, Sam.

Tbh a gpu upgrade will yield much better results for gaming than a cpu change. The 3570k is still pretty decent, (also have you overclocked it?). Recent cpu's havent made a big difference in games.

Yeah that's what i initially thought, I've never really had and problems with the CPU, but just wanted to check that it wasn't going to bottle neck me.

I've thought about overclocking it before but always seen it as a risk to do so, plus i would have no idea what i was doing and wouldn't wan't to break anything :)

Is there a good tutorial somewhere you would recommend?

Thanks, Sam
