I have had a Sapphire 4870 512mb (new cooler type) ive had it for a few weeks and it plays everything on my 19"" Tft.
I can get a cheap new sapphire 4870 1G
Is it worth upgrading? i dont plan to increase my Tft size unless it breaks down.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Not worth it, keep your 4870 512 till you upgrade your TFT, when you finally upgrade the screen there will be better cards out then.

Heh someone has found the Sapphire 1G priced at £169 :D

£159 for the 512mb.. < Which I bought a week ago when the 1Gig was £179 :o

and.. yes.. as above, No point at all. The reviews show naff all difference between the 512mb and 1gig at that resolution (same as mine) , the 1Gig comes out top at much higher rezes

This week I 'upgraded' from a 512Mb 4870 to a 1Gb. I've play Crysis at 1920x1200, high settings, 4x AA and it has made no difference at all. Not a single FPS has been gained in during gameplay and in the GPU benchmark I've lost 2 FPS.

On a 19" a 1Gb would be even more pointless. If your thinking of buying from that cheap place take a look at the reviews, I wouldn't hate to have to return anything to them.

Yeah that is card i had in mind. There is a £5 off voucher that can be added plus 5% quidco. That will bring the card @ £173 delivered with approx £5 quidco back makes the card £168 for 4870 1g
