Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade and my current system comprises of an i5 6600K/GTX970/16GB DDR4 RAM.

I really only use the computer to play games and I'd be looking to re-use my others parts, most notably my 750w Superflower PSU and 24" Dell U2412M (1920x1200) monitor.

My budget is £1500 for CPU (and cooler?)/Motherboard/RAM/GPU/1TB M.2 (but if some money could be saved by getting a 1TB 2.5" drive, I'm not against that).

I've had a look around and a 7800X3D CPU and an Asus 4070 (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus...dr6x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-49c-as.html) look good, but I've not really kept up with hardware since building my current system around 8 years ago, so I'm open to recommendations for the above two parts, but mainly, the Motherboard/RAM/1TB storage, as I have no idea on those. I don't require anything fancy Motherboard wise, as long as I get as much performance out of the parts as I can and I can plug my 2.0 speakers into a line in port, then I am happy.

My budget doesn't allow for a new monitor which is a bit annoying, but I was thinking along the lines of that I'd rather be able to play games that I am struggling with, at high settings and a high (hopefully solid) framerate of 60 i.e. Helldivers 2 I am having to run on the lowest possible settings, at a resolution of 1900x600 (I think it is) and I still get low frames pretty much all the time. Other games I'd be looking to play are Hell Let Loose, Six Days in Fallujah, Ready or Not, possibly Gray Zone Warfare, basically, games my friends are looking to play but I can't.

Thanks for any help!

Thanks for the replies, they're really helpful. I'm going to take a bit of time to think about things but I am thinking the 7600X or 12600KF is the way to go for me as it'll save me a bit of money (12600KF even more so) which I could put off a monitor upgrade and keep the total quite a bit lower than £1500, which would be nice.
