I've got a solid six years out of my current rig, and looking to retire it to YT/kids duties in the main room.
I was set on putting together something around the Ryzen 5600x and enjoy another six years of fuss free computing. But the 12600k has me thinking of sticking with Intel, although the fill build will be pricier due to the mobo.
Would the 12600k provide better performance for the next 4-5 years? Does AMD have something up their sleeve that will bring them back on par performance wise while maintaining better overall system value?

Deffo wait couple of months and see what pops up from amd. I wouldnt buy into am4 right now unless you get the parts cheaper on 2nd hand market.
Intel seem to offer good value for money at this moment in time.

Yeah, I think holding off for the B-xxx mobo from Intel makes sense for now. Just means I'll be using the new GPU in a old system and some wonderful bottlenecking. 1st world problems
