Upgrading from 6950

Hi all i will soon be upgrading my case psu and Graphics card i haven't kept up to date with current technology and am wondering what graphics i should upgrade to for around £250-£350.

are there good options now? is there new tech coming soon ? will higher models be reducing in price soon? are some questions i have as i am in no rush to upgrade if waiting will serve me better.

im mainly using it for Gaming BF4 and the like but also any new MMORPGs if they can release a decent one

If you are intending to game at 1080P, I would be all over a GTX 970. Cool and quiet but if going a higher res, I would just sit tight for a bit.

yes only 1080p for now are there any particular models better than others for the 970gtx or do the all perform pretty similarly?

There was a report on what had the less issues and the MSI gaming came out on top. I am at work or I would dig it out for you.

I think there all decent. MSI have quite a few fan issue reports but then again they are prob the best seller so the more there are the more reports.

ok so after waiting a while my needs have changed and i need to Game at 2560x1440 will my current card be enough for this (r6950 2gb) or will i need an upgrade? or as in the original question should i wait for some new releases to push prices?

I think you'll need an upgrade for that resolution, and yes, I would buy now, too. It all depends on what sort of settings you like to have in games.
