Hey all

I've been sat in my current setup for a few years now, and despite it not having any issues to date I feel like it is time for me to take the plunge and replace the GPU setup I am running. Games these days are not being developed to take advantage of the SLI, and I believe the single GPU route is something I should consider now. The next target for me will be to run Cyberpunk 2077 at a good/impressive rate at 1440.

What are my options? Is there anything else coming down the line that might drop current GPU prices?

Advice and/or suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

I was in this boat after upgrading to sli 980ti. Realising that sli isn't a thing anymore, i switched to a 2070 super and then a 2080 and got good gains. I would say the 2080 was around 20% faster real world gaming and without having the issues that come with sli.

For you i would sell the 980ti's now while they're still around the £140 dependent on model and put that towards the 3000 series or Big navi cards that are just a few months away.

However if you can't wait, a 2070 super or 5700xt seems to be the bang for buck at the moment.

If buying now I’d go for the 2070 super as it’ll run dx12 ultimate (even if ray tracing perf is a bit meh) Mesh shaders are the future.

Next-gen cards are few months away.
Those should finally bring more CPU like competition into GPUs.

And next-gen consoles have also strong GPUs.
GPU of next Xbox is at 2080 Super level in raw performance and can't see MS or Sony accepting RTX level penalty from raytracing.
