Upgrading from a 2500k to a 2600k

I'm sure in future there will be more games that are multithreaded but by that time we would have cheaper and faster cpus. Spend the money on something else imo. I was thinking of the same thing not long ago.

Not worth getting a 2600k imo over 2500k in my opinion (unless you can do a part swap and get one cheap).

Either get a 3770K (if your board supports it. Upgrade the BIOS first either way) or wait until the next generation or so.

Ok from this thread and lots of other threads online its the same consensus really, dont bother and upgrade to a different technology and as its a gift, a full upgrade doesn't seem like the best financial choice here when my system isn't behind at all it seems. That and I know I can squeeze more out of my CPU if I need to.

Instead, I've gone for two Seagate Barracuda 2TB's as I've been wanting some storage space for recording game play for a while.. now the question is, am I going to need to RAID them for the best recording speed on Dxtory or will they be good enough!

Time to make a new thread in another forum. Thanks for the advice people.

I ordered from OCUK brand new :)
