I'm looking to upgrade my 560ti, its served me well for 2 years but with getting a 24" screen and newer games its starting to show its age.

I've been looking at the 760 and the r9 270 but can't quite make my mind up. Are there any other options? I'm budgeting around £200 for the card.

Another thought that occurred to me was my power supply and whether it would need upgrading for either card. Its a OCZ modxstream pro 600w (not the most know of brands I know).

My main concern with it is the connectors. Currently the card has 1x 6pin and 1x 6+2pin (The 2 pin part not being plugged in), would I need an adapter or would a whole new PSU be needed?

Any insight would be appreciated

My Specs:
Motherboard: INTEL DH67CL
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Memory: 8GB (4x2GB)
GFX: Asus DirectCUII NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti
HDD: 1TB 6Gb/s, 750GB 3Gb/s
Fans: 5 120mm 3 High performance
Devices: Wired Mouse, Microsoft Sidewinder X4, Logitech G430

yeah forget the 760 as its not good value for money. I would go for the 280 in the link above. Although if you can stretch to the extra £30 you could get the 280x and with what you would get for the 560ti then it would be well under £200 spent.

This is a good call. Spend a bit more and recoup money with selling your 560ti, to bring it back down under the initial £200 budget

When I got my 290 in November I sold my 2GB 560Ti for £80 in the local ads to some polish guy. Came round gave me the money and didn't even ask to see it running lol

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Good to know on the PSU front.

I've been thinking about moving over to AMD now seeing as it just seems better value.

Factoring in the 560ti should help aswell.

Some good suggestions offered up.

As said the 280 (7950 rebrand) for £199 is a good solid upgrade. Or the 280x route. You could look at a 770.

As said the PSU is powerful enough, however it was on the budget side (im not against them I have some in some builds ive done) However long term Id look for something better next time.

Ok So I'm looking at 280's now but I think I'm getting too hung up on the core clock speed.

What's more relevant the core clock speed or the Boost clock speed?

I'm not sure it makes a whole lot of difference tbh as you can overclock the cards more or under clock them yourself, I would be looking at which has the best cooling solution/ noise level/price. The 280X is obviously better than the 280 so if you could get the extra cash for an X model then you would be better off in the long run I think but I like the Asus or MSI coolers personally.
