So, my mobo finally decided to loose 2 whole dimm slots over the past few months. I was faced with a choice! Buy a new Z77 and stick with DDR3 ram and the trusty 3570k, or just upgrade the whole lot...

So, where should I go from here? I literally just use the thing to game on and am not particularly interested in OC'ing anything. I want to keep the cost down too, below £200 for the CPU if I can help it so AMD would probably be the best option right?

Brief summary of current set up (excluding parts that will be changed):

650w modular PSU
GTX 1060
500gb ssd

I think that's everything... let me know if I left anything important out (feel free to scold)

Cheers!

For a budget build: R5 1600, a cheap B350 mobo like an ASUS B350 Prime or MSI B350 Tomahawk and while I wouldn't cheap out on the RAM, you can always go for cheaper Hynix kits but they won't run at rated speeds, probably closer to 2666Mhz.
All of that should keep costs pretty low.
