Hello,
So as per the title, I want to upgrade my cooler. The antec is about 2 years old and has been refitted 3 or 4 times and it really bugs me that it could leak at any point and destroy my PC.

  • Ideally I'm looking at the up to £80 range.
  • I have 32GB (4x8GB) Patriort black mamba which I want to keep in where it is in my Gigabyta Z77X-UD5H motherboard.
  • I have 2 x 120mm Alpenfohn PWM fans which I really like so unless its a huge upgrade, I'd like to reuse them.
  • Case is a carbide 400r

Please fire away :-)

I quite like the look of the Phenteks ones.
Any pros or cons with them? I like the idea of a 140mm fan setup but even then I don't want to block my RAM.

Why do you think your AIO could leak at any time?

I was reading through some forums the other day and read about someone who had issues with a corsair AIO. Mine is basically the Antec version and it makes me a little nervous that it could leak.

I know a standard cooler can't leak so it seems the safer option in my mind.

I'm also aware of the whole "get what you pay for" and my 620 is probably at the bottom end of the AIO liquid cooling solutions.

Custom or non custom loops don't leak on their own unless something physically causes it to break. Through impact or because water boils in the block due to the pump not working.

I understand what you are saying. But things can go faulty without prior warning and it just niggles me that my water loop is probably one of the most "budget" parts in my build.
