Upgrading from Dapper

Im upgrading my Ubuntu Linix laptop from dapper to edgy...

if I use this command to upgrade:

gksu "update-manager -c"

Will it install and configure upstart for me? I really want upstart due to speed increase.

it will, it's the official method for upgrading. you may want to check you don't have lots of 3rd party repos or packages installed though, it's caused a few problems upgrading.

done it on my pc, laptop and work machine - no issues

Worked fine here as well. Some people were having problems though, yeah.

I had a few problems with the nvidia drivers but mostly it all went well. Edgy seems much more responsive than Dapper
