Hello I have a four year old GTS 8800 640. I don't do games that much but like to tinker with FSX now and then. Perhaps a little Battlefield too. Don't want to spend a fortune so was looking at the 6850. Do you think this is a good bang for the buck?
How would it compare to the GTS I have already?

It will be going into an i7 machine. I at some point want a 27 inch monitor with 2550 resolution like the Dell 2711. Again, very high quality in games is not a main use case for me.

Thanks, KS

Massive upgrade from your 8800, great little card.

Probably looking at 3-5x the performance depending on game.

Hi there,

The HD 6850 is a really good value graphics card and at 1080p should be at least twice as fast as a 8800GTS 640MB card. That said, if you mainly play FSX then I think you would be better off going for a Nvidia card - since they tend to better in that game. For example, something like a GTX 460, GTX 560 or GTX 560 TI would be a good option.
