Upgrading from HD4870 to GTX 285

At the moment I have an ATI Radeon HD4870 (not the X2) with 512 MB of Graphics RAM. Would it be worth to buy the GTX 285? I don't play games often.

As you dont play games often then no, even if you did it would be dependent on your res, 1920*1200 and up then yeah youd see the benefit, below this no

I play at 1920X1200.

When I play a game, it's usually one of the latest games. So that's why I'm asking if there's a very great difference in performance. If it's just a few FPS faster, it's indeed too expensive to upgrade.

Going to a 285 from a 4870 is not going to be earth shattering. Save the money and just overclock the 4870 a bit

yep you wont see a great improvement tbh your best bet is to overclock the card you have now and maybe wait a while before buying a new card new cards should soon come into the market dx11 anyone?

save your money for the next generation cards, shouldn't be too long now....i hope.
