I have a 27" 1440p Korean PLS monitor, and I'm considering upgrading to same size and resolution gsync monitor.

I've been looking at the Dell s2716dg due to the price, but the fact it's TN worries me. Would it be worth it just to get gsync and 144hz? I'm not too keen on the IPS glow, but I don't know if it'd be worth losing the supposed better colours and viewing angle. Though I sit straight on, so maybe that wouldn't be a problem.

nothing supposed about it, i could never go back to TN.

if you were going to an ips with gsync id say its worth it, especially with the higher refresh.

I did the exact thing and i was pleasantly surprised how good the TN panel was in the dell s2716dg after adding some digital vibrance in the nvidia control panel and trying a few ICC profiles the colours are very good imo:)

If your directly in front you will be fine and one thing about TN is no glow and blacks also look better to me.

Gsync and 144hz are the icing on the cake i could not go back to a monitor without Gsync its just really nice to have.

The Dell S2716DG is a solid choice. I've never touched an IPS monitor in my life, so I don't know what I'm "missing", but honestly, the colours and quality is amazing to me.

The thing with TN panels that I struggle with is the viewing angles. If your not viewing it perfectly straight on the image becomes very muddy. There fine when working on a spreadsheet or playinga game but if you want to lay on your bed and watch a movie or stream youtube it's annoying having to reposition the screen all the time.
