want to buy some bigger fans for my rig and replace some others, for the top of my case I want 140s. the ones I have on top now are nf-p12s.

what are the nf-a14/15s like for noise output and cooling when compared to the nf-p12s ?

They produce a lot less noise than the NF-F12s I have, not sure what the P12s are like. For comparison my NF-A14 is inaudible at 1000RPM while I can hear my NF-F12s at 1000RPM. Don't have anything to measure sound with but my ears find the A14 to be a lot more silent.

The P12s are about 75% of the A14s performance and average 80% of the noise, based on numerous readings from various distances with my sound meter phone app.

Or to spin that around - A14s will give you about 25% more performance, with up to 20% noise increase. To my ear, A14s also seem to be quieter when going through grilles and mesh.

Noctua A15 or Phanteks which are stated to have better airflow

thanks for the replys, think i'll go with the a14s and use more nf-p12s where 140 isn't an option
