I have an old Dell Inspiron 1525 with Windows Vista. If I wanted to upgrade this to Windows 10, what would be involved? What happens with all the hardware drivers?

Thanks

You can't upgrade. You'll have to a clean install. Windows 10 may include drivers for the hardware inside but that's something you'll have to look up yourself.

I checked Dell Inspiron 1525 hardware, it is full compatible with Windows 10.

You cant upgrade Vista to Windows 10 but you can upgrade Vista to Windows 7 then upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10 by keep all your files without clean installation. When upgrade Vista to Windows 7, all Vista hardware drivers will be update to Windows 7 hardware drivers then when upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10, all Windows 7 drivers will be update to Windows 10 drivers.

+1 for clean install, just make sure you back up everything first. I did a clean install a couple weeks ago and it took 11 minutes until I got to the desktop, then it's just installing whatever programs you need, updating drivers etc.

I would only do this if you have an SSD and at least 4GB of ram.

10 is awesome, but it really needs an SSD. Saying that.. Windows has needed them since Vista.
