Am I right in thinking that normal XP pro wont see 4gb of memory?

Basically looking to do a full upgrade soon (CPU, Mem etc) but really dont want to switch to Vista.

I do a lot of design so need a good CPU and a lot of RAM.

Would 64bit XP be ok or would I be likely to run into any problems? Would be using Adobe CS4 mainly so want to get the best out of it.

Many thanks :)

Great! I remember reading a long time back that it was patchy with software, guessing that its ok now then and would be fine with 8gb memory?

didnt like the additions, the mithering (i know you can turn bits off) the fact it felt a lot slower and the things they changed around. my intention is to wait for windows 7 but need to upgrade my pc.

on the surface, 7 is the same as vista

98 to xp was a big jump, xp to vista wasn't so much

vista is like a tidier version of xp (from a user's perspective)

why ask what? I asked what XP 64bit was like. Its a completely valid question...

Does it still have incompatibility problems with apps/drivers? Does anyone know of any sites I could look at to look into this further?
