upgrading fron msi R9 280x to geforce 1060 6gb

After months of painfully trying to sort my 4 year old 280x ive decided to bit the bullet and go for a new card.

Im not the most tech savvy gamer but after watching a fair few youtube videos i think a 1060 6gb card would be the one to go for as it suits my budget and reviews on the card look good.

Anyone of opinion i should be looking at anything else ? Budget around £250 mark. Below is a example of what i am currently thinking of getting.

I would prefer the RX580 personally. It has 2GB more VRAM and freesync monitors (and TVs) are cheaper than gsync later on if you decide to upgrade. Especially the overclocked Red Dragon.

After my problems with amd and my old card it puts doubt whether to go to AMD again. Although 2gb extra for a similar price is tempting is there any other pros about this card?

I would wait for next generation of cards or spend more money and get a 1070ti.

1060 isn't going to last years like your 280x has done there is already games out there it struggles with.

i understand that i might just buy a 1060 6gb for now and sell on when the new 1100 series cards come out at the end of the year.

5 years old GPU and blames AMD lol easy had his money worth from the GPU to begin with.
OP electronics are not immune to failure, every single electronic have a life cycle. This depends on the quality of the components used for the GPU. Something that might surprise you is AMD or Nvidia don't actually made the cards they just design the core GPU.

I understand that they only design the cores but I'm thinking of swapping to a 1060 for the time been and upgrade again when the new generation cards come out at the end of the year
