Hey guys. I have a issue, my old gaming PC has a AMD 1055T x6 (overclocked bundle to 3.40) brought from overclockers them self. It has 4GB ram and a Radeon 5850 if I rememberer correctly. The HDD is a 1TB drive.

If I was going to upgrade this PC how would I go about selecting parts without disturbing the OC'ed config on the CPU. Also what parts to upgrade; since iv been out the loop for a long time.

My budget would be around 500-600 quid.

Cheers for your time ladies and gents.

Is the CPU still going strong for you? No problems currently?
Best suggestion would be an addition of a SSD and a GPU like a 660 / 7950

What is the make and model of your PSU though?

This, if you have a decent Psu.
Sell your Amd bundle(cpu, mobo and ram ) and Gpu. With the money from the sale, get a nice 256gb ssd. Maybe upgrade cooler Psu and case. :D

Thanks for all your quick replies!

I found my order receipt from OC from the 6th of Aug 2010.

XFX ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card 1 £178.71
OCZ StealthXStream 2 600W Power Supply 1 £46.80
Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) 1 £38.29
Antec VSK 2000 Midi Tower Case - Black 1 £25.52
Samsung SH-S223C/BEBE 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM 1 £11.91
Akasa AK-191-SM Smoke Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin 2 £9.98

That is what my Rig has atm.

So would just adding a new GPU and SSD be enough to rape the new games; or will I have to invested into a new CPU and Ram?

Thanks for your time again

I think as above, get a GPU & SSD - if you find the CPU/RAM bottlenecking - then upgrade that!

The only difficult decision is which GPU - 7970 / 660 / 670 / 7950.

ur hdd has gone up in value^^
i duno it depends if you find the cpu fast enough
the games and res etc

the CPU is overlclocked to 3.40 and the RAM is also overclocked so it might not bottleneck the new GPU and SSD to much. Im just really unsure atm; If i get a new CPU and RAM i would need a new motherboard to.

The price seems to be increasing all of a sudden ha.
