What kind of GC/CPU setup is needed to play this nicely at 1900x1200 with everything on full? That is of course if they every sort out the stuttering.

I have an aging E6400 @ 3.2ghz/ 4 gig ram/ 4870 1gb GC / Corsair 520 PS and have been toying with splashing out on a new graphics card if they sort the suttering out. What graphics card would sort me out? I take it my CPU should be powerful enough with the right graphics card?

I don't mind if the card is loud when gaming but would like it to be quiet for normal use. I also use my PC as a HTPC for mkv playback and run a hdmi cable downstairs to my amp and plasma. Budget is £250 but the less I can spend the better.

Ta :)

Well... if you want the Core I5, you would need new memory, mobo etc so I'm guessing that is out of the question. I'm thinking for of a q6600, OC it to at least 3GHZ. Then maybe THIS or THIS and OC the gpu?

Thanks for the reply!

You think Im not gonna get away with just changing my GC?

Hmmm... Well since the game is console ported, this means the CPU will be working over time since xbox's and PS3's use triple core CPU's. However, there has been some mixed views about black ops and dual core CPU's as the recent patch made things more stable and better fps for you dual core users.

Personally, I would go for the Q6600 (Black Ops will love you with the quad core, so will other games) and if you get the 1gb gtx 460, or gtx 470, games will run a lot better for you.

Runs perfectly on my 3.3ghz Q6600 and 5870, a 6850/460/6870/470 would all do a decent job when paired with a Q6600.
