Hey

Im upgrading my GPU to a 4770 from a 9500 GT and need a new power supply.

I'm just wondering will this PSU work with it?

Artic Power Supply.
500W

# 8 (4+4) pin supports two sockes server
# Super Quiet Technology: Smart fan control function
# Over-Voltage Protection (OVP)
# Over-Power Protection (OPP)
# Short-Circuit Protection (SCP)
# Dual 80mm fan to maximise airflow
# 100% Hi-pot, chroma and burn in function
Connectors:
Universal 24pin Main ATX power
4 pin 12v power connector x1
4 pin (for HDD, CD-ROM) x6
Floppy Connector (4 pin) x2
Serial ATA power connector x2
4 pin Molex to 6 pin PCI-Express adaptor x1
4 pin Molex to 8 (4+4) pin +12v Power adaptor

My other specs:

Intel e5200
2gb ram

And under 4770 requirements it says:

450 Watt or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connectors recommended.

4770 is the amazingly low power card isn't it? What's your current psu, I suspect you don't need a new one

My current PSU is a Win Power 450 PSU and sounds like its gonna blow up everytime i turn on the computer, it makes a grinding noise.

I currently use a 9500 GT XFX and would the 4770 be a huge upgrade? If there is a different card i would take it but i budget is like 120 max £ My native Res is 1680x1050 but don't mind playing in lower resolutions.

(4770 and the PSU comes to £113 with free delivery)

Yea i read some benchmarking articles and it can get some nice results when overclocked
