thanks all!

Dell have property connectors so swapping to a new case can be a nightmare.

Getting an ssd would make the biggest impact coning from an mechanical hard drive. You could clone the main drive with Macrium reflect, which is free.

Gaming you would need a new gpu the gt 730 is a basic display adapter, open up the case and take measurement but you may only be able to use a single slot gpu.

There comes to a point where it mite not be worth it because of limitations such as power supply.

Thank for the reply. Is it worth upgrading power supply if I can get it all in a new case? Or would this motherboard make that difficult. How could I find a compatible PSU?
Cheers!

If you move to a bigger case you could fit a more standard size psu but as i said dell doesn't make things easy with connections.

The 8400 and memory are good so you could get a compatable mother board and rebuild in a standard case. Just Google 8400 compatable motherboards but beware they may only be compatable with a bios update which you need an older cpu to do

Then you have gpu upgrade which are not cheap at the moment.

What's your budget ?

You're unlikely to get it to fit judging by the photos. If the screw holes line up there's not a guarantee that the rear Io ports line up along with the PCI slots. You've also got the problem that you'll lose the front IO ports and the case ones might not fit as there's (possibly) no connection.

It also doesn't use the standard ATX PSU connectors so a new PSU wouldn't be compatible.

Unfortunately if you're looking for an upgrade in that direction it's really going to be PSU / mobo and case. As mentioned above though an SSD is a reasonably cheap upgrade that you're likely to feel the benefits of immediately.
