Hi there,

I've got an Acer Aspire 5735 Laptop with the following spec:

Windows 7 32Bit Professional
Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 (2.0Ghz, 800Mhz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache)
3GB DDR2 RAM
Intel 4500MHD Integrated Graphics

It's obviously no gaming machine but I am well out of pocket to be able to afford a proper machine to game on. However I thought I might be able to upgrade the graphics card on my laptop for a bit of light gaming for some relatively old games in my library (CSS, RTW, M2TW etc).

Now I'm unsure if I can even upgrade it for starters since I am not really in the know with how to do it on a laptop, though I have built my own system in the past so I am fairly sure I would be able to do it, provided the laptop has the option in the first place.

I've tried googling some results to no avail so I was wondering if anyone on here had an information or advice they could give me on this?

Thanks :)

You can't upgrade graphic cards on a laptop. (I am not 100% sure on this though , so someone feel free to correct me.)

Top gaming laptops have dedicated graphics cards that can be upgraded. Your graphics are integrated (provided by the motherboard) and cannot be upgraded, sorry.

Ah! I had a real hunch that would be the case. Guess I will have to wait a while before I can get a job back home during the summer and build a new rig.

Oh well more Xbox 360 fun it is then :)

Yer, it's unfortunate, I was in your situation a while back when I used to have a laptop and used to crave playing the newest games at the best quality. Unforunately most laptops dont have the juice to play em. I used to get by with CSS on lowest graphics, I couldn't even play Dust2. xD
