upgrading laptop ram

hi

a friend in work has a cheapo laptop that always has the 1gb of ram maxed out so im trying to find out what model of ram will work with it

the ram now has a sticker saying , 1gb 1rx8 pc3 - 8500s , this is from a Toshiba satellite

would these work? pc3 8500, it already has these on the current ram

I would probably consult the Toshiba website on this one first by entering the model/serial no to find out exactly which ram is compatible.. http://www.toshiba.com/us/accessories-home

Then shop around for the best price once you know what you can use.

yes they should work as along as its so-dimm

most important part is pc3-8500 or ddr3 1066mhz
