Currently getting a bit higher temps than I would prefer to (88c+)

Is there a big upgrade that I could look into or not worth it for now and wait till I upgrade my motherboard and cpu?

Are you using the curve optimiser?

If you're not, it is easiest to make some adjustments.

I'd question if your mount is right though, if those temps are gaming temps.

The lian li AIO gets good reviews
So doubt there's a big upgrade available
Other than a 3 x 140mm AIO

I use a 360mm AIO on a 5700X3D and works wonders, usually mid 40's during gaming.

the curve i have set it up with fanspeed
this is on idle
the 88c comes when gaming
I did change the thermal paste recently and saw some improvement but not massive

Did you check pump rpm?
And if that's OK
As someone suggested may need to remount cpu block
