upgrading macbook mis 2010 memory.

thinking about upgrading my mid 2010 macbook memory.

currently have basic 2gb but ive read two different things about upgrading.

apple says a max of 4gb, some people agree but others say it can take 8gb.

anyone done similar?

what can i put in it?

yup, was hoping someone on here mite have upgraded to 8gb and can confirm it will work ok.

I have a mid 15" 2010 model and went from 4gb to 8gb.

I have a 2008 unibody MacBook it took 8GB just fine. Not sure it uses it all but for 30 quid why not?

Had a mid 2010 13", came with 8gb installed by original owner of the MBP, not by Apple but not sure what brand - Kingston comes to mind but could be making that up

That's not what I bought (I bought 1066MHz) but let's just say I recommend that manufacturer
