I'm looking at the possibility of replacing my existing motherboard and processor I have around £300-400 saved up but I can do some more overtime if required.

My current build looks like this at the moment:-

Corsair CX750M power supply
Gigabyte gtx 1060 6gb gfx card (bought for £230)
GA-78LMT-USB3 Motherboard
AMD FX-6300 3.5ghz processor
8gb ddr3 ram
128gb ssd (OS installed on this)
1tb hdd (not sure what speed)

*Really important*
I'd like the build to be quiet, at the moment it's quite noisy and I think the noise is mainly coming from the cpu fan but I haven't managed to confirm this.

Can somebody suggest to me possible replacement parts mainly for the motherboard, processor, memory and cooler for a good gaming build? I will also be looking to buy a new case in the future I'll need something more sound proof and discreet to keep the wife happy.

From my own research I've deduced that the Ryzen 5 1600 or the 1600x would be the best value for money although I don't know how loud these operate, I have no intention of overclocking but may buy a new cooler if it keeps things quiet. I'm no expert so this could be a bad choice.

Something else I've been thinking about lately is how nice it would be if I could control certain things like turning the pc on by a bluetooth remote or having a next track button when playing music, I wonder if there's a device like that available for personal computers?

I could do with a new wireless keyboard and mouse, I've read that mechanical keyboards are nicer to use so I may look into getting a cheap one off of ebay or something should I look for certain brands? I don't wants to pay too much maybe something like £20-30.
Thank you.

The noise is more than likely being contributed by your case.
I went from a 10 year old gaming case to a newer case and the noise levels where sugnificently less even with my old parts in for over a month.

As stated earlier tue 'Be Quiet!' brand is solely designed for quietness.

i suggest you look in to the be quiet pure base 600 case also :)

There non windowed version.

Tempered glass does cut sound down more then pure metal panels , but this and one above have metal panel with sound material

there is a pure base 600 with a metal sound dampened side where the glass is now :p

I wouldn't sacrifice the 1400 over a 1600 due to a more expensive case - the Fractal is also a well silenced case.

Hi, in the end I decided that I'd try and save myself some money by not buying a new case and I went with these parts:
Patriot Memory 8GB pc4-24000 £95
ASRock AB350M £72.25
be quiet! BK008 Pure Rock Slim Heatsink & Fan £23
AMD Ryzen 5 1600 £160
Delivery £5
Total: £355.25

temps are idling at around 26-30 degrees Celsius

The memory I overclocked using the xmp 2 profile and got it to Dual Channel @1463MHz (16-18-18-36) I assume your suppose to double that figure giving me close to 3000MHz? Just wondering how I did? Did I choose a good setup?

I haven't bothered overclocking the CPU mainly because I don't really know how, is it worth me overclocking the CPU? I mainly use the PC for playing football manager 2017 - would I see a huge performance boost? Also I wouldn't want to risk the life span of the CPU by overclocking so I'd only really want to do it if there is very low risk of overclocking the CPU affecting the lifespan of the chip.

I'm already thinking about my next purchase and I believe it's probably worthwhile to upgrade my ssd from 120GB to 512GB. I currently have a Sandisk SDSSDA120G and I'm thinking of upgrading to a 512gb samsung 850 evo ssd or a samsung m.2 ssd, I think the 850 evo one sells for like £140 and the m.2 one for like £220 so I'm wondering is it really worth that extra £100 for the m.2 ssd?

@lewey19882

its worth overclocking to get the best out of your money with ryzen - fact unlike intel , 2/3 of its platforms dont restrict you. Most on stock coolers just bump it up to boost 3.7ghz across all cores, instead of letting the CPU do its own thing , making it work 100% when its performing a task.
FM is very CPU intensive - guessing the key areas you'll notice it quicker is when it generates all the scores when your clicking through but been a while since ive been on a FM game :(

yep, you double the stated ram speed :)

personally, with the way things are prices and Samsung 960 sata 3's coming out, prices of 950s should drop a little, rather go for storage amount then speed
