just need a little poke in the right direction really!

i7 860 (h60 cooler)
p55 dfi itx
8gb OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 / 1333MHz / Gold Edition / Ultra-Low Voltage / 8GB Dual Channel (9-9-9-21)

now im looking to go for

msi z97i itx
4790 (or a 4770k?)
TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit
tipping in at around £488.96 from ocuk.

Now a few questions, I'm wondering which cpu to get. I'm not much of an oc'er and i like to keep temps as low as possible (and keep my system quiet) so I'm thinking a 4770k would be lost on me, and the 4790 with its boost would be ideal enough.

If I do fancy stepping it up I could sell it on and get a K when they are out.

Second, would my current ram work on the z97 and run one of the above cpus fine at stock? (im rebuilding my system over the next few months or so, so would eventually upgrade the ram but if I dont "need" to then its money saved this month!)
I've only chosen the teamgroup as it seem highly regarded on h ere with the speed/timings? Again completely no idea how that effects things when overclocking etc.

Have also said in regards to the MSI z97, I've only just got an ssd so lack of m2/sata express aren't bothering me too much. I just want something reputable, stable and has support.

So in short, keep my ram and get a 4790 and be content as the speed boost from my current system would be enough, oc the nuts of a 4770k with the teamgroup while warming my feet next to the pc OR get a lesser cpu to bide time untill 4790k. If so, what would be a good cheap stop gap over my current i7?

If it was me I'd keep your current i7 until the new ones are out and maybe consider a GPU upgrade first if you haven't already. There is little point in buying a 4770k if you are just going to want to sell it for the new i7 when it comes out. Your current ram would work fine in a Z97 board although it is a little slow although I doubt you would really notice the difference outside of benchmarks.
