Upgrading my 6800GS

Hi,

I'm looking to be upgrading my old 256MB 6800GS in the next week or so to a 256MB 7800GTX.

What i'd like to know, is when i install the new card, is it just a case of switching them over and booting the computer up? or will i need to do anything specific regarding the bios or drivers etc...? I've never actually upgraded a computer like this myself.

I already have the ForceWare 169.21 drivers installed which are compatible with 6, 7 and 8 series cards.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Use driver cleaner pro to delete the drivers.
Seek out others for driver version advice for your New card.
Instal new card.
Instal recommended drivers.
Enjoy eye candy
