Upgrading my adoptable storage - help!

Hi folks,

I have a Moto G4 Plus (running Nougat) and have a 32Gb, class 10, UHS-1 micro SD card installed and formatted as adopted storage. However, I have found that any apps that run off the card as VERY slow so I bought a UHS-3 card to replace the current one. However, when I tried to change them over it's not as simple as I hoped. Does anyone know how the correct process as it decided that the two cards were different and wouldn't let me move things from one to the other, etc.

You could try just coping the data from old card to new card, that should work.

However the Moto G4 will probably only support UHS-1 as max speed anyways so you wouldn't get the full speed increase of the UHS-3.

Depending what the old card is vs new card you might get a slight increase, depending on brands etc
