Hi there.

I'm wanting to replace my rig slowly as I don't think my graphics card (ati 5859) is all that bad in games, I think it's my q6600, 4gb ddr2 ram that is letting my system down.

What I was wondering is what's the cheapest CPU, mono and ram I can get away but still having bait of overclockers avabible for me the maybe future proof it as well.

I was thinking maybe a intel ivybridge or sandybridge and I've heard the overclocking capabilities of the new intel CPUs I only use my computer for gaming bf3, skyrim and store etc. I don't mind secondhand either.

My current spec is:
Antec p190 advance case
1400watt psu that came with the case
Asus p5q deluxe
Intel q6600 @3.2ghz
4gb ddr2 800mhz
1tb hard drive
Play my games at 1650x1050 I think the one under 1080p

Thanks for your help in advance.

i5-3570K is best value processor atm and overclocks very well.
The motherboard has crossfire/SLI which makes it more future proof but you could save £30 by getting the Gigabyte Z77-D3H instead which does not have support for 2 graphics cards at x8.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM £167.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £112.99
1 x GeIL Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD38GB1600C11DC) £33.59
1 x Cooler Master Hyper 612S CPU Cooler (Socket LGA1366/1156/1155/775/AM3/AM2+/AM2) £32.99
Total : £358.96 (includes shipping : £9.50).

A B grade Z77X-D3H motherboard is also available which only costs £81.
