Hi guys,

Recently got a 5% off for OCUK so would like to upgrade my current spec.

I have got currently

Intel Pentium Dual Core E2180 @ 2ghz with artic 7
2gb RAM
250gb HDD
Radeon HD 4670 1gb (I think)
Corsair 4502 PSU

Now would it be worth upgrading some of the main components or easier in the long run? This build cost me £500 in Dec 07 so I guess i've had my use out of it.

Would anyone be so kind as to build a spec for around the same price? as i'm really not clued up on whats good and whats not etc nowadays, and could I use my GFx card in the new build aslong as it'll play BF3 and CS : S

Thanks a lot

HDD is sata, think the optical is IDE, can't remember exactly of the top of my head.

Its a 450w PSU, again not sure on exact model, but can check tomorrow when I find the invoice..

Assuming your case will take a standard ATX motherboard and keeping your existing harddrive,

The graphics card is on this weekend only deal.

Theres still money left over to get a nice new 500GB HDD if you wanted.

Cheers! I was hoping to get a SSD to install Win7 on as I hear it loads a lot quicker, which is ideal for me as it currently take's over a minute

A non "K" CPU and H67 motherboard means you cant overclock.

But the board above still has SATA3.0 and USB3.0

Not fussed about OC, would probably fry it knowing me! Reckon I could get away with using my current GFx card? its only about 18 months old.

Your current card is really slow compared to that 6870, i'm on my phone now but try googling for a comparison.

Ahh ok, cheers for all your help, I shall look into it more tomorrow now, time for bed!
