Hello

I'd like to upgrade my daughters aging PC for her birthday next month.

Current specs along the lines 1.4 Athlon, 512Mb (2x256) Crucial CAS2 PC133, 9700 Pro, Enermax PSU.

I've got a spare 9800 Pro (AGP) which i'll probably use, and the Enermax should be fine.

So looking to upgrade the board (AGP), CPU (plus cooler) & RAM.

The main problem is i want to spend as little as possible. Spec doesn't have to be latest or greatest. Also doesn't have to be new kit, i don't mind tracking stuff down.

Any suggestions?

Cheers
Skoot

[EDIT: Been offered the following for £95inc.

DFI 250gb nForec 3 Soc 754 mobo
OEM sempron 2800 64bit
2x256mb Mushkin PC3500 Level One DDR,

Any good?

What does she use her PC for??

If she doesn't play games at all just word processing or browsing web that rig is perfectly fine, maybe extra 512Mb of RAM plus your 9800pro.

Gaming primarily mate.

I've just built my son an nForce2 based rig, XP2800+, 512Mb PC3200 & that's ok for gaming (for a kid anyway).

So something similar or better really.

What do you think of the offer above?

I'm now thinking of giving her my Abit NF7-S v2.0, XP2500-M & buying some PC3200. Sell her 9700 Pro/old Athlon bundle, and get myself an Asrock 775Dual & E6300 :D

Hmmmmm...
