So, I'm posting again in this sub-forum as I finally have decided to go for a 2nd hand parts and I need advice.

Ok so I have this build below:

I know my current build is old and the GPU sucks soo bad in it but I want to squeeze maximum out of this PC especially in 900P on High/Very High/Ultra on the latest AAA games for the next around ~1 - 1.5 year if possible by upgrading GPU and maybe PSU for which I have in total £117.

When it comes to GPU, I was thinking if I should go for a new GTX 750Ti/R7 360 (2GB Versions) or MSI Radeon HD 7870 OC Edition 2GB GDDR5 for £70 and the rest I can spend for a new PSU ?

Also please notice that I will be gaming only in 900p.

What do you guys think I should do ?

7870 at that resolution will easily play all the latest games, should be a massive upgrade over an R7 240.

You probably wouldn't even need a new psu with a 7870, they're pretty low on power requirements.

How does 7870 looks in performance wise against a 750Ti ? Also will it run most games at 1600x900 in ultra ? I have heard that if I use 450 PSU with a 7870 I will be hitting nearly limits so I was advised to get a 600W PSU ? O_o

P.S I'm just soo confused, there are so many GPU's on the market that you can go crazy !! I'm more of a software guy than a hardware so when it comes to pairing parts with computer I easily have problems with it.

P.S 2 I got that 7870 got for a £62 and was used for around a year or so, so I think it's a good deal overall.

Edit: What do you think about getting a second 7870 for SLI + new PSU ? Would that increase a lot of performance on my rig ?

You mean 'crossfire'. :)

If a game supports it, then yes it can be a cheap way to boost performance very significantly. However, I seem to read more negative comments about multi-gpu these days than ever, so I would check out the games you play before you shell out on another 7870.

I'm not too sure about the power requirements for 2x7870's and your own system, maybe something around the 600w mark - and a good quality unit at that! :)
