Upgrading my Graphics Card

Hi,

I am new on here and need some advice on upgrading my graphics card:).

I am upgrading my monitor from a 19" to a 23" widescreen, and thought it would be good to speed up my system as well, but on a small budget.

I don't play that many games on my PC (leave that to my PS3), apart from IL2.

So firstly is it worth upping my RAM to 8GB?

Also which is my best option for a new graphics card max budget of around £60

details;

Motherboard - Asus M4A785T-H
Chipset - Dualcore AMD 785G,AMD K10
CPU - AMD Athalon II X2 250, 3000MHz
4 GB Ram
Graphics Card - ATI Radeon HD4200 (256mb)
Windows 7 64

thanks

I have still yet to see a benefit in having 8GB of ram vs 4GB if you are mainly a casual user / gamer. So on that basis no it is probably not worth upgrading at the moment.

At £60 you are somewhat limited but you could look at:
AMD Radeon 6670 as seen here: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=701&catid=56&subid=1983 - The Asus silent edition falls just over budget at 64.99 and would be a huge improvement over what you have. Not that strong but you said that you leave most of your gaming to a PS3 so that shouldnt be a problem.

thanks for the reply and suggestions:)

I had been looking at the 6500 cards as well, but the one you have linked to looks good.

with the set up I have if I added another £20 to £30 to the budget to bring some of the 6700 cards into range, would there be that much performance increase from the card you recommended?
