Upgrading my Graphics Card

Basically i've had a GTX 570 since mid 2011, and feel its finally time for me to upgrade as its lagging out on the newer games.

My price range is around £250, up or down a bit depending on value for money.

Ive been leaning towards the GTX 970, but im not too savvy with components and am slightly worried about the 3.5gb/4gb vram issue thats been going on. Im not sure if itll effect me too much as apparently its only an issue with 4k setups, but I may be wrong.

If I was to get a 970, what model would you recommend? MSI, EVGA, G1 etc

The rest of my system is still rather solid, specs below.

Processor (CPU) Intel? Core i7-2600 Quad Core (3.40GHz, 8MB Cache)
Motherboard ASUS? P8Z68-V
Memory (RAM) 8GB SAMSUNG DDR3 DUAL-DDR3 1333MHz (2 X 4GB)
Power Supply CORSAIR 650W ENTHUSIAST SERIES? TX650 V2-80 PLUS? BRONZE

Any help is massively appreciated, as I said im not incredibly savvy with computer components!

If you are playing at 1920x1080p i cant see the vram issue causing you any problems with a 970, i could be wrong but if i am someone will soon correct me lol

I would go for an MSI GTX 970. Great build quality, quiet and overclocks well.

Do some research in to what brand & what you want from it (ie looks, OCing, backplate, warranty and so on) ?

Performs just about the same with the 970 slightly faster in some games. Only noticeable in benches tbh!

Apparently in another thread they perform just the same as a 980 as well

If you are not in a particular rush to upgrade maybe wait for AMD to release their new range. That should shake things up a bit price wise.

i wouldn't go that far unless we are talking about 4k then maybe. But were not its 1080p.

If you are getting a gtx970 remember some brands like gigabyte have uk based RMA.
