Upgrading my laptop

Hey there,

I currently have an asus UX303LA-R4338H laptop

It came with a 128gb SSD

I wanted to know if I purchased the below SSD will it fit?

Samsung 840 EVO 2.5 inch 250GB Solid State Drive

Are SSDs usually all the same size for laptops i.e 2.5 inch?

If someone could help i would be most grateful

don't bother with 840, go 850 evo.
if laptop accepts 2.5" drive, then it'll fit.

why whats up with 840 and 850 evos?

I am not quite up to date with ssds

how do i know if my laptop accepts 2.5"? i dont know what the current size is of the 128g in there

so basically you advise me to stay away?

if yes, then can you recommend a 250g ssd for me please?

Just get the 850. I use one for steam, good drive.

Whats the different between the 850 and 850 pro I assume its a difference in performance, does it matter?

850 pro uses MLC nand.

850 uses TLC nand.

You won't perceive any difference, price is fair for he 850.
