Upgrading my monitor what's the best my x800xl can do

i play HL2 and Bf2 and pretty much nothing else but i'm going to upgrade my monitor to a 20" or 24" widescreen so I wondered what's the best resolution my x800xl would be able to play those 2 comforatbly at medium-high settings with 2XAA. Currently it runes BF2 and HL2 fine at 1280 by 1024 and I don;t see the point in buying a new card with vista around the corner and me spending 75% of my time in PS and firefox.

You may be ok with a widescreen 1680x1050. You will probably have to drop some settings, or maybe gie up with the AA.
BF2 will probably struggle more of those 2, but you should still get playable fps.

thanks a lot that is what I thought. 20/21" does seem the way to go especially as the 2407 is now £750
