upgrading my pc and using the spares to build another

Does that MSI SSD have D-RAM?
No, but it is believed to use TLC memory, has a 5 year warranty and decent endurance ratings per TB. It should be fine for a pootle-'puter for grandpa.

From a scoot around, you could look at a used GT 710/720 for a basic Windows 11 GPU, though I think you'd have to pay a bit more than £10.

How much?
Around £15 should do it, there's a few GT 710 and GT 720 around that price and you can get Windows 11 drivers for those.

GT 610 you can get for £10, but this driver does not include the GT 610 in the supported products so perhaps best avoided:

Edit: from a read around, I think you have to get one which is Kepler to support UEFI and there are both Kepler and Fermi versions and I'm not sure how to tell them apart.

if you decide to put more ram into what you have, I was going to sell some on ebay until I discovered that it is bloated with this ram, plenty of this ram @3600mhz on ebayto use before passing the old guts pc onto your family member

Gaming Plus has more rear USB 3 ports (most of the A620 board are USB 2.0).
Gaming Plus has rear USB Type-C.
Gaming Plus has M.2 heatsinks.
Gaming Plus has Wifi 6E (6 on the A620M-Plus)
A620M-Plus has a PS/2 port.
Both have 2x M.2 slots and 4x SATA ports.
Both have 2x 1 lane PCI-E slots and the primary is PCI-E 4.0.
One of the 1 lane PCI-E slots on the Gaming Plus is above the graphics card, which could be handy if you have a very large one.
Gaming Plus has 8x rear USB ports total (7 USB Type-A 3.x, 1 USB Type-C), whereas A620M-Plus has 6x rear USB ports total (2x USB Type-A USB 3.x, 4x USB Type-A USB 2.0).

I got bored of comparing the specs at this point.
