Upgrading my PC, help me please

I created a thready earlier but it disappeared for some reason.

Can I just for some advice about upgrading my PC. It's a bit slow and want to upgrade the GPU as well if possible.

Spec:
Q6600
P35 DS3R
2GB 800MHz
8800GT

I was thinking of adding a SSD and changing RAM and GPU.

Can you please recommend me compoenents that are compatible. My mobo supports DDR3 but I am not sure how well.

Depends on a few things.

PSU : Needs decent quality to support a 6850 (which would be my minimum recommendation, £100).

Looking at the spec sheet and supported memory list, your motherboard doesn't support DDR3. 2GB is a huge bottleneck.

Overclock the Q6600. Get a decent cooler.

EDIT : hmmm some people have fitted 2x2GB DDR3 rams with that board?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

My PSU is corsair 520w, the price of this card is reasonable, will the performance be significally increased from my GT. I haven't kept an eye on GPUs since I built this PC.

Also I can't find my mobo but it def supports DDR3
