Hello all...new here (although a long time lurker) so go easy on me ;) , anyway i'm looking to upgrade my pc (neo 2 plat 939, 3700 SD , ATI X800xt , 2 x 512mb corsair xms , Thermaltake butterfly 480w , 120 g seagate sata HDD .. i was hoping i would be able to save a few pennies by keeping my power supply and hdd ( case and drives aswell) was looking to go conroe this time, possibly also a 2900 pro although a little unsure if my psu would cope?. i mainly use my pc for games.. not sure if i'm going to go tft yet although i have the funds set aside (i mainly play fps games) but the thread on this in the monitors section may have put me off:confused: anyway my budget incl monitor would be about 650...any advice greatly appreciated

This would be a very good start:

It's overbudget but would be an excellent choice. If you wanted to get it under the limit you could go for a cheaper motherboard, a cheaper graphics card, a C2D rather than a C2Q, or a smaller monitor. Let me know what your wish is. :)

Do you intend to overclock?

thankyou for the quick reply Billy....it doesn't really matter if it runs a little over budget as i had initially set myself a budget of £1300 for a complete build, but thought i would leave that till the end of next year / start of 09 (partly due to wanting a little sunshine holiday over the winter). Not sure if i will overclock or not..i'm a little wet behind the ears on this front and any overclock probably wouldn't be very spectacular. Do you think my psu would cope with the 2900 pro??
thanks again
